We depend on the generosity of organizations of all sizes and in all industries to help our neighbors in need. The support we receive allows us to work more efficiently and effectively in our mission to end hunger.
Thank you to our recent funders for helping us make an impact on our community!
William G. Irwin Foundation
The Irwin Foundation makes grants to support non-profit capital projects throughout the Bay Area, and their funding has allowed us to purchase two critical pieces of equipment – a pallet wrapper and automatic refrigeration doors – that will help greatly to improve operations in our food warehouse.
Several dozen pallets, stacked with food packages and wrapped in plastic by our warehouse staff, leave our Santa Rosa facility for distribution sites throughout Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties. Our new pallet wrapper enables us to prepare more food for distribution with greater speed, using less plastic to secure food more strongly while reducing the physical strain on our staff. The new sealed automatic doors are better at preserving the core temperature of the refrigerated section of our warehouse, benefiting the overall food safety at our main facility and improving its energy efficiency at the same time.
