Ingredients

  • 6 oz chow mein noodles or dry spaghetti noodles*
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 package or can chicken*, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded (or celery*)
  • 1 carrot*, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Directions

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Before cooking, chop and prepare all ingredients since this recipe cooks quickly.
  3. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  4. Add the garlic and cook for about 10 seconds.
  5. Add the chicken and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in the onion, cabbage, carrot, and cooked noodles. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring often, until the cabbage is tender and the vegetables begin to crisp.
  7. Add the soy sauce and sugar. Stir until everything is well coated and the chicken is cooked through.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately.

Final Thoughts
