Welcome to Food From The Bar!
During the month of May, the local legal community came together for one purpose: to help End Hunger in Our Community.
Participating firms, companies and bar associations entered a friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds, collect the most food, and volunteer the most hours for the Redwood Empire Food Bank.

March 24, 2026 | Registration Opens
We will create your team page upon registration and send you the link to review. From there, we can help you customize your page.
March 24, 2026 | Volunteer Opportunities Open
Sign up to volunteer at refb.org/volunteer. We encourage you to share this link and the information below with employees, friends, and family—when they volunteer, their hours will be counted towards your team’s total.
Once you (or other person volunteering for your team) are signed up to volunteer, please do one of the following:
- Inform your team captain who will communicate with the Redwood Empire Food Bank to ensure your hours get logged.
- Reply to the volunteer confirmation email sent to you upon registration to indicate that you are participating in Food From The Bar.
April 1, 2026 | Team Coordinator Call
Team coordinators will hop on a zoom call from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM with the advisory committee and Redwood Empire Food Bank staff for campaign education and best practices.
April 30, 2026 (Tentative) | Food From The Bar Kick-Off Event
Time: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM | Location: Redwood Empire Food Bank (3990 Brickway Blvd., Santa Rosa, CA 95403)
Coordinators and their teams are invited to gather at the Redwood Empire Food Bank to celebrate the Food From The Bar Campaign kick-off. Each team is encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations.
May 1, 2026 | Food From The Bar Begins
Donation pages officially open.
Throughout May | Events & Fundraisers
Stay tuned for details about on participating law firms' FUNdraising efforts. Past years events have included: Cornhole Tournament, Bingo Night, Pool & Shuffleboard Tournament, and Bowling Night. Let us know what your team is planning and we'll promote it here!
May TBD | Evening Volunteer Shifts
Time: 5–7 PM | Location: Redwood Empire Food Bank
This a great way to support your team while giving back—just $25 per person (donated to your team’s fundraising page) secures your spot. Each shift is limited to 50 participants, with a max of 20 people per team, and spots are first-come, first-served. Fill out the interest form to get started, and our volunteer coordinator will follow up.
May 31, 2026 | Food From The Bar Campaign Ends
Online contribution will be accepted until midnight.
June 5, 2026 | Last Call
All cash and check donations must be received by the Redwood Empire Food Bank before 4:00 PM to be eligible towards final team rankings and awards.
Food From The Bar is a month-long competition between law firms, law schools, and legal services organizations to acquire donated food, volunteer hours, and collect monetary donations for the benefit of the hungry in our community. Many bar associations in California and other states sponsor this competition annually during the month of May.
