Summer Lunch

When schools break for the summer months, thousands of growing children from low-income families in our community lose access to free and reduced-cost school lunches. Summer Lunch fills the meal gap by delivering free hot and healthy meals and a variety of enrichment and physical activities to at-risk children throughout Sonoma County.

Program Impact

Summer Lunch serves lunch to children in Sonoma County at more than 30 sites in high-need areas, providing children the fuel needed to grow and play during the summer months. Many of the sites incorporate enrichment activities, which promote creative and critical thinking, ensuring young minds stay active and engaged during the academic break.

Community Reach

Over 1,300 children are served a healthy lunch every day throughout the 10 weeks of the program. Over 39,000 meals and more than 32,000 pounds of fresh produce are distributed to children who risk experiencing hunger over the summer months.

How You Can Help
